Famous for hits like “Seminole Wind,” “Swingin,’” and “Straight Tequila Night,” John Anderson has paved a long and successful music career behind his unique voice and his down-to-earth narratives about life in the southern countryside. Anderson, a Florida native, grew up listening to rock greats like Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones until he was exposed to artists like Merle Haggard and George Jones as a teen. Traditional country ballads like Porter Waggoner’s “Green, Green Grass of Home” captivated Anderson and have been a constant influence on his music since. “I loved those types of ballads,” Anderson said, “To the point I didn’t want to get away from it.”

After releasing over 20 records, landing several CMA and Grammy award nominations, and an unexpected career revival in 1992 with his first double platinum album, Seminole Wind, Anderson is now on the road in support of his first album since 2009, Goldmine. Self-released on Anderson’s own Bayou Boys imprint, Goldmine sees Anderson expressing his creative energy without the influence or coercion of a major record label. This sort of control has Anderson refocusing and growing his three-decade-long relationship with his fans, “At this point, it’s just for me and the fans,” Anderson said. “Their love of the music has only gotten better.”
