● The Bonita Springs Center for the Arts is excited to announce Music at the Moe: a series of concerts that intertwines Chamber Music with New Age, Jazz, Chill Out, and Latin Jazz. An array of top international musicians living and working in South Florida will join local flautist and CFABS faculty Luis Sandoval in a display of original music, as well as timeless and favored classics.

“The perfect image of the spirit and feeling of the rococo age with German sentiment”, according to Rudolf Gerber, Mozart’s quartets with strings are among the most delightful, recorded, and performed pieces written for flute by the Austrian genius. Composed in 1778, these quartets were commissioned by Willem Britten de Jong, “a gentleman of means and a lover of all the sciences” who happened to play the flute. Mozart, short of money as usual, accepted the commission to finance himself while in search of a permanent position in Germany or France. A quartet (flute, violin, viola, cello) made with musicians from China, Venezuela, Colombia, and the United States is opening the Chamber Music portion of the series with a Mostly Mozart program.
